Clap Hanz, Ltd. (the “Company”) hereby sets forth its personal information protection policy (this “Privacy Policy”) as follows regarding the handling of its customers’ personal information.

Definitions of terminology in this Privacy Policy are determined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (the “Personal Information Protection Act”) and other related laws and ordinances, unless otherwise specially stated.

Definitions of personal information

(1) Information by which a specific individual is identifiable by a name, date of birth, other description, or the like contained therein (meaning any matter (excluding an individual identification code) that is stated, recorded, or otherwise expressed verbally, with gestures, or any other method in a document, drawing, or electromagnetic record (meaning a record kept in an electromagnetic form (meaning an electronic, magnetic, or other format that is not perceptible without instrumentation; the same applies in the following item)) (including information that can be easily collated with other information and thereby identify a specific individual.)

(2) Information that includes an individual identification code (meaning (i) characters, letters, numbers, symbols, or other codes indicating some physical characteristics of a specific individual that have been converted for processing by a computer and by which that specific individual is identifiable, or characters, letters, numbers, symbols, or other codes that are assigned in relation to using a service provided to an individual or to purchasing a product sold to an individual or that are stated or electromagnetically recorded on a card or any other document issued to an individual, such that the specific user, purchaser, or recipient of the issuance is identifiable due to the code being uniquely assigned, stated, or recorded to that user, purchaser, or recipient of the issuance)

Compliance with related laws and ordinances, guidelines, etc.

The Company lawfully and properly handles personal information in compliance with the Personal Information Protection Act and other related laws and ordinances, guidelines and the like set forth by the Personal Information Protection Commission, and this Privacy Policy.

Consenting to this Privacy Policy

Customers shall use products or services provided by the Company after consenting to the content of this Privacy Policy. If a customer has a question, a complaint, or the like related to the Company’s handling of personal information, the customer should use the below contact details to contact the Company.

Handling of personal information and purposes for using personal information

1 Handling of personal information

In addition to obtaining customers' personal information by the following methods, the Company shall obtain customers' personal information by legal and proper means and shall not obtain such information through deception or other wrongful means.

  • (1) Personal information that is registered in an account or the like by a customer due to using a product or service of the Company
  • (2) Personal information that is communicated to the Company by a customer through an inquiry or the like
  • (3) Personal information that is automatically obtained by a product or service of the Company

2 Content of personal information collected

The Company may obtain the below personal information from customers in relation to the Company’s provision of its products or services.

  • (1) the customer’s name, address, telephone number, email address, and other contact information
  • (2) the customer’s username, password, date of birth, and other account information
  • (3) use status, use history, and other such information regarding the Company’s product or services and positional information for the Company’s product or services
  • (4) the customer’s IP address, login information, cookies, third party devices, OS, ID information registered on the platform, and other identity verification information
  • (5) bank account numbers, credit card and debit card numbers, and other payment information
  • (6) information provided by the customer for the Company's surveys and the like

3 Purpose of use personal information

The Company may use customers' personal information within the scope of the following purposes of use or within the scope of the purposes of use that are clear from the circumstances of its acquisition, and will not use it for any other purposes except with the consent of the customer or as permitted under relevant laws and ordinances.

  • (1) Saving the customer’s account information, status of progress (i.e., status of progress in a game, obtained scores, possessed items, and other conditions), and the like in a product (i.e., game or the like) of the Company and otherwise providing and maintaining the Company’s products and services
  • (2) After-sales service and support necessary to facilitate customers’ use of the Company’s products and services
  • (3) Analysis and surveys for marketing and the like carried out to promote the Company’s business and to develop new products/new services
  • (4) Notifications regarding the Company’s new and products, new services, exhibitions, and other such information
  • (5) handling inquiries and consultations from customers
  • (6) Billing for payments, refunding, paying, and the like and administrative processes related thereto
  • (7) Matters that are necessary to improve quality, prevent trouble, or resolve trouble for customers

Notwithstanding the above, the Company may, without obtaining customer consent, use customer information with which an individual cannot be specified (including personal information in a format with which an individual cannot be specified) within the scope accepted under laws and ordinances.

4 Other purposes for obtaining customer personal information

If the Company is to use any customer’s personal information for a purpose other than those stated in Section 3 above, the Company shall notify the customer or announce that use purpose, and if personal information from customers is to be handled in writing for that use purpose, the Company shall clearly indicate that purpose to the relevant individuals.

5 Special-care-required personal information

When the Company acquires personal information of customers requiring special consideration, the Company will obtain the consent of the individual concerned, except as otherwise provided by applicable laws and ordinances.

6 Prohibited uses

The Company shall not use personal information with any method that might encourage or induce an illegal or improper act.

7 Handling of complaints

If the Company receives a complaint from a customer about handling personal information, the Company shall endeavor to process the complaint properly and quickly.

Managing and safekeeping retained personal data

1 Managing retained data

The Company shall endeavor to keep personal data obtained from customers accurate and up-to-date and shall promptly delete this information when it is no longer needed.

2 Security control measures

The Company shall take security control measures to prevent leakage, loss, damage, and the like of retained personal data in accordance with the Guidelines for the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (General Rules Volume) of the Personal Information Protection Commission.

3 Supervision

The Company will provide necessary and proper supervision to employees in accordance with the Guidelines for the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (General Rules Volume) of the Personal Information Protection Commission.

4 Outsourcing personal data

The Company may outsource the handling of customers’ personal data to a subcontractor to facilitate operations and t provide better services to customers. However, outsourced personal data is restricted to the minimum information necessary to perform the outsourced work, and the Company shall carry out necessary and proper supervision.

5 Reporting to the Personal Information Protection Commission

If a leak or the like set forth in the Rules of the Personal Information Protection Commission occurs, the Company shall report it to the Personal Information Protection Commission.

6 Notifying individuals

If the leak set forth in 5. above occurs, the Company shall notify the customer in question.

Providing retained personal data to third parties

1 Provision of personal information to third parties

The Company shall not provide retained personal data to any third party (excluding outsourcees), including any overseas third party, except in cases in which the customer in question’s consent has been obtained and cases in which it is accepted under a law or ordinance.

2 Administrative work when providing retained personal data to third parties

In cases in which the Company provides retained personal data to a third party in accordance with 1. above and in cases in which the Company handles personal information of a customer from a third party, the Company shall record and save that in accordance with laws and ordinances.

Announced matters; handling requests, etc., for disclosing personal information

1 Handling disclosure requests

If the customer or a representative thereof has requested disclosure of retained personal data that is held by the Company or of retained personal data that is held by the Company that was received from a third party, the Company shall provide notification without delay, except in the below cases.

  • (1) If there is a risk of harming the life, body, assets, or other rights or interests of the customer in question or a third party
  • (2) If there is a risk of significantly hindering the proper execution of the Company’s business
  • (3) If a law or ordinance will be violated

2 Disclosure methods

Disclosure by the Company set forth in 1. is to be carried out by electromagnetic record or in writing.

3 Handling corrections, etc., of retained personal data

If the content of retained personal data is not true or if it is necessary to change retained personal data, the Company shall, in accordance with the subject person’s requests, examine the content of that personal data; carry out necessary corrections, additions, or deletions; and then notify the customer of the result thereof.

4 Suspending use of personal information

  • (1) If personal data has been used for a purpose other than a use purpose set forth in this Privacy Policy, if personal data has been used with a method that might encourage or induce an illegal or improper act, or if it is found that personal data has been handled with deceit or with any other improper means, the Company shall, in accordance with the customer’s requests, take measures, such as suspending use of that personal information. However, if huge expense will be required to suspend use or the like or if it otherwise difficult to suspend use or the like and necessary alternate measures are to be taken in order to protect the customer’s rights and interests, then those measures must be used.
  • (2) If the Company finds that it has provided retained personal data to a third party in breach of the customer's consent or in violation of this Privacy Policy or of a law or ordinance, the Company shall, at the customer’s request, stop providing that personal information.
  • (3) If it is no longer necessary for the Company to use retained personal data, if a leak or the like set forth in the Rules of the Personal Information Protection Commission has occurred, or if there is a risk of damaging a customer’s rights or legitimate interests, the Company shall, in accordance with the customer in question’s requests and without delay, stop using the personal data and stop providing it to third parties, to the extent necessary. However, if necessary alternate measures are to be taken in order to protect the customer’s rights and interests, then those measures must be used.

5 Collection of the personal information of minors

The Company may also obtain personal information from customers who are minors in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Custodians and other legal representatives of customers who are minors may contact the Company to request disclosure, correction, deletion, and the like of handled personal information.

7 Contact information

There are some products and services of the Company for which personal information of customers is not handled at the Company, and there are cases in which the Company does not handle personal information of customers due to use of a third party’s product or service of handling being carried out through any of those. For information on personal-information handling in those cases, please refer to the privacy policies of the third parties.

8 Modifications to this Privacy Policy

The Company reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. If the Company elects to amend this Privacy Policy, such amendment will become effective after the amended Privacy Policy is posted on the Company’s website.
